Peggy is also a part-time digital nomad which if I could have any other job- that we be IT! She is moving around the world to get to know ambitious women like herself with a goal of empowering other women to action- Peggy and I are of one heart on this! Read on to find out why she does what she does and what you can do to get involved with her!

1.      Tell us about who you are and your journey to where you are now!

My name is Peggy Bree and I’m a a Part-Time Digital Nomad from Toronto! I’m extremely digital savvy, a total creative, and a HUGE supporter of living a passion-filled life. Currently, I’m working full-time in Toronto while I grow my side hustle. As a Part-Time Digital Nomad, I like to move slow and at my own pace! The phrase, “Part-Time Digital Nomad” is a term I made up, as I didn’t think that the word “Digital Nomad” fit me authentically. To be a Full Time Digital Nomad, you don’t have a home base, and you’re moving to different places as you go. For me, I still enjoy having my hometown be my sole base, but I also like to move and live in other places as well. I managed to create a lifestyle that allows me to do that and found freedom in that sense.

In terms of where I am now, I’m currently planning my move to Bali this year. It will be my first time there, and I plan to focus on growing my skills and meet more like-minded ambitious women!

2.      What is the mission of your brand? How does it empower women?

My “side hustle” is a Branding Studio called BLANK ROOM. We are a passion-filled studio, intended to help the curious entrepreneurs and experienced folks with their Branding and Design. We help others live an independent and free lifestyle full of passion and freedom. Our studio has Founder Resources to support and inspire others with their next move, as well as offer creative support services to help people with any Visual Aid for their ideas and brands. Our latest Founder Resource is a book entitled, BRANDING QUICKIES, written by 20 BADASS WOMEN who give their tips and insight on branding.

Our mission is to help entrepreneurs, ESPECIALLY ambitious women, launch their passions and turn them into brands. Our resources are WRITTEN by other women who are amazing at what they do and are fully walking out their talk. It is our mission to help empower women by creating resources that will allow them the FREEDOM to dream and provide actionable tips to support their endeavors. We also have creative service support to turn ideas, into existence.

3.      How do you collaborate with women working towards a better world?

I love collaborating with other women. The popular hashtags, #CommunityOverCompetition and #CollaborationOverCompetition, is a notion that BLANK ROOM will carry forever. We solely believe in supporting and helping other women open their eyes. We want to remind them that it is POSSIBLE to live a passion-filled life and dream by helping them turn it into purposeful brands. Not only do we want to remind them of the possibilities, but we also want to lay out EXAMPLES of people who are doing it and share their best advice and tips. Our book, BRANDING QUICKIES, is a perfect example of collaboration and women working together. It embodies this beautiful cycle of positivity, and shows that when we uplift one another to THRIVE in this world, we will rise together.

4.      What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur and what are the steps you’ve taken to overcome it?

In regards to this topic, I’ve actually had this conversation recently at a Women’s Networking Event in Toronto! I was at an event that was also hosted in an all-female workspace, MAKE LEMONADE. The space was full of empowerment, tips and love. In the workshop, we had to create a small group and talk about our journeys. In my group, we talked about challenges and I brought up that one of the biggest challenges that I’ve faced as a female entrepreneur is intimidation when I’m in a networking room full of men.  It has always felt like I was being pressed on my success, based on numbers, and that they never understood when women talk about wanting to work on themselves and wanting to create feel-good brands to help others and work on ourselves too. When my group also agreed and shared their own experiences with this, I felt nothing but compassion for women in business. It is definitely intimidating to be around alpha-minded folks who talk about success solely measured in numbers, and never the progress and struggles behind it. In terms of overcoming this, I think that being in a supportive environment and around other ambitious women, is the most uplifting support I’ve ever had. I am constantly inspired by other ambitious women who support one another, and their willingness to share their progress in a vulnerable and powerful way! It is SUCH a beautiful space that can be found in SO MANY Facebook groups, networking events, and in community.

5.      What advice would you give to a female entrepreneur in the beginning stages of launching her brand or business?

My best advice is to surround yourself with other female entrepreneurs! Create your own circle, or join other circles. The utmost SUPPORT you will receive is incredible. Everybody wants to help each other, and we all totally understand the whirlwind of emotions that comes with launching a brand. Being around other people starting out, or around experienced folks, is the BEST way to grow and work on your passions. Not only are you not alone, you are SUPPORTED!

6. What sets your brand apart from others?

I think that what sets me brand apart from others, is that we are very Founder Focused. BLANK ROOM is a branding studio that will do everything possible to genuinely help founders grow and get to where they want to be. We share goodness around this digital space in every way possible, and will continually DO SO. Our passion, is YOUR passion!
