Meet Chelsea: Calm the Space

Just hearing how Chelsea organizes spaces for her clients made me feel so calm- NO JOKE! Chelsea is all about empowering women to spend their time on tasks that maximize their greatest passions rather than organizing which definitely isn’t everyone’s calling! Most impressive to me is her response to how she is collaborating during the COVID-19 Crisis- read on to be inspired by the simplicity of how she creates a better world through organized spaces!

1.    Tell us about who you are and your journey to where you are now!

Hi, I’m Chelsea Moore! I’m married to an awesome guy and a mama to an extremely busy toddler. My family is, and always will be, my top priority. Born and raised in Oklahoma! Graduated from Oklahoma State and my work background is in PR and Marketing in the dental sector.

I’ve always been an organized gal since I was little. Shopping for school supplies was a highlight of my summer! When my husband and I bought the house we’re in, we never thought we would have a kid here. Well, never say never. This created storage challenges but also allowed me to think outside the box. That’s probably the seed of creating Calm The Space. Cause let’s be honest, I had to calm my own space! My sister and I were talking one day and she encouraged me to start helping her. Well, this spiraled and one day I was making an LLC. It’s a hobby that turned into business!

2.    What is the mission of your brand? How does it empower women?

First and foremost my mission is to make it be known to my clients that they should never be embarrassed for not having their spaces organized. Let’s face it, all of us have strengths and organizing just isn’t for some. I provide a non-judgemental relationship for women, especially my clients that work their butt off 9-5 pm and come home to put on their mom cap and work another 5 hours! I hope to empower women by creating a calm space so they can devote more time in life to what matters to them.

3.    How do you collaborate with women working towards a better world?

This answer probably would have been different 3 weeks ago. However, it’s just a weird time for women working in small business due to the climate from COVID-19. I collaborate by trying to promote fellow organizers and local businesses so they can stay afloat during the crisis.

4.    What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur and what are the steps you’ve taken to overcome it?

It takes a lot of vulnerability to chase a dream, right? It’s harder to go for something than to not. HOWEVER, the outcome is very rewarding. I think my biggest challenge was just getting over the fear of starting something on my own. My advice is to surround yourself with friends and family members that encourage your creative side and lift you up. This is key.

5.    What advice would you give to a female entrepreneur in the beginning stages of launching her brand or business?

Be ready to dedicate time to work on your business and sacrifice some things. I still have two other jobs, and this is my creative side business! I plan events for dental professionals to receive continuing education and I assist with marketing for an orthodontic practice. Creating time away from those jobs as well as being a mom made me realize that I had to put in the work early in the morning and late at night. It hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies but super worth it. I also think it’s important to have fun and not take yourself too seriously.

6.    What sets your brand apart from others?

There’s a lot of amazing organizers out there. I think each of us has our own unique qualities and I admire so many of my fellow organizers. With that being said, It’s important to me to not take on too many clients at once and to dedicate a lot of time to make sure my projects are done to the best of my ability. I love being able to make custom solutions and labels for my clients. I try to really get to know their style and create a space that’s good for THEM and not just what looks good, ya know?
