Meet Aisha: Sweet Nectar Beauty

When I discovered, Sweet Nectar Beauty, I instantly wanted to feature + partner with Aisha because of her desire to provide a safe, natural alternative to commercial beauty products- talk about empowering women! I also love that you can take a skincare quiz for recommendations from Aisha! Aisha grew her brand naturally because her products WORKED and gave her immediate results- read on to find out how Aisha serves her community, empowers other women, and has persevered through her own struggles to make her brand what it is!

1. Tell us about who you are and your journey to where you are now!

Hi! I’m Aisha Nicole @aisha.naturalista- a Texas native, fashion and beauty enthusiast that loves all things DIY, hot sauce, and women empowerment. I created Sweet Nectar Beauty after going through an embarrassing adult acne stage and spending hundreds on beauty and dermatology products that didn't work.

As a last resort, I decided to turn to a holistic approach to see if it could work for my skin. Through extensive research of natural herbs, flowers, and oils, I decided to create my own products and within a few weeks, I noticed huge changes in my skin. I enjoyed creating so much that I started making products for friends and coworkers and that is where the idea was born.

I started doing local vending shows, created a website, and have been growing ever since!

2. What is the mission of your brand? How does it empower women?

Sweet Nectar Beauty’s mission is to provide plant based, quality products that are affordable and safe for women and women of color. We empower women by providing natural products that help them achieve a natural glow and promote holistic wellness, mental health, and give back to impoverished women in our community.

3. How do you collaborate with women working towards a better world?

I am always looking for ways to collaborate with like-minded women in my community and support other small business owners. I have met some wonderful female entrepreneurs through trade shows and local events and always but from and recommend small business service first to anyone I know. I’m looking forward to collaborating with women more in the future!

4. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur and what are the steps you’ve taken to overcome it?

The biggest challenge for me is managing my time. I work 9-5 and then spend the rest of my free time on my business to the point I get burned out sometimes. Then I’d feel guilty because I’m working on my passion so it should always be fun right? Wrong. So I have to remember to steal a few moments for myself. Self care is important too!

5. What advice would you give to a female entrepreneur in the beginning stages of launching her brand or business?

Do not be afraid to fail or ask for help. I have learned so much from the mistakes I’ve made along the way, but it builds character! Stay encouraged, some days are better than others.

6. What sets your brand apart from others?

What sets my brand apart is that my goal is to build lasting relationships, educate my consumers on natural alternatives, and strive to be a source for information. I’m in the business of enriching lives with the help of nature and also have built a community of women that follow my journey and share theirs with me.
